APPLICATION
When containers are dispersed around an airport they can
be an untidy feature, and, unsecured, they are subject
to the unpredictable wind conditions of an open airport
environment. This is a hazard which endangers not
only aircraft but also airport personnel with
potentially disastrous consequences.
As a solution to these problems Viking have designed a
container storage system which MAXIMISES your STORAGE
SPACE and keeps containers safely under control.
Designed to accept and securely retain LD1 and LD3
containers as standard, LD2 and AKH containers can also
be accommodated. Footprint of 10.6m x 15m (as
illustrated) stores 96 ULD.
The system can be modified to accept most other types of
container if specified at the design stage, and the
footprint shape can be altered to suit available space
in most instances.
Modular design allows the storage area to be extended as
required, or with an airport environment which is ever
changing to meet the needs of expansion with resultant
alterations to apron layouts, the whole system is
capable of being dismantled and relocated.

DECKING
Ball mat surface at the entry to each storage lane
allows one man to manoeuvre the containers quickly and
safely. The storage area throughout each deck is fitted
with standard rollers and walkways
Facilities are built in to retain the containers in
their stored position.
ACCESS:
An electro hydraulic elevator, sited alongside the
storage area, provides simple access to Level 2 and
Level 3.
SAFETY:
A low voltage control system is standard, this also
provides lighting. Automatic gate locks provide added
safety. An access staircase is supplemented by an
emergency escape ladder. A crash barrier surround at
ground level can also be provided as an optional extra.
FINISH:
All steelwork is galvanized to ISO 1461.
INSTALLATION:
The system is fully installed and commissioned by Viking
engineers.
